AGC Automotive Europe Ltd. a wholly owned subsidiary of Asahi Glass Co. Ltd. started its operations in Gilly, Belgium as Splintex S.A. back in 1929. In the 1970s Splintex became the automotive division of Glaverbel S.A. and established a new tempering facility in Fleurus, Belgium.

Pioneering takeovers in Czechoslovakia and Russia during the 1990s increased the company's foothold in the expanding markets of Central and Eastern Europe. Takeover of PPG Europe's operations in 1998 increased its capacity close to 5 million car sets with eight plants in five countries.

AGC Automotive Europe is the largest supplier of automotive glazing in Russia and a close third largest supplier in Western and Central Europe.  In the Automotive replacement glass market AGC Automotive Europe operates under the name of AGC Automotive Replacement Glass. Our range contains glass covering 90% of the European automotive park with a quality of original equipment glass and related accessories.

To meet our customers' expectations on time, we stock the products coming from our automotive plants in two central distribution warehouses, one in Cuneo, Italy and one in Bor, Russia. From there, the products are distributed throughout Europe to our subsidiaries and our warehouses, as well as directly to our customers.
