Best of Belron® 2010 gets off to great start with the first national champion announced in Belgium

The Carglass® Belux national final took place in November at the Eurocam Media Center, a high-tech multimedia environment near Antwerp.  This was a perfect location to hold the action-packed finale which covered all aspects of the customer journey, including the Customer Contact Centre, the Front Office in the branch and the fitting competition.

The Belux Best of Belron® event started back in September when, over a period of several weeks, a total of 206 employees took part in regional pre-selections. The finalists were announced on 22nd October with 12 technicians, 3 Customer Contact Centre Agents and 3 Front Office employees winning a place in the national competition. Three of the 12 technicians were rookies – technicians with less than two years of experience.

A fantastic arena, including a mini customer contact centre and branch reception, was designed and constructed especially for the event.  The attendees, including over 100 customers from insurance and fleet, were able to watch the technicians repairing and replacing vehicle glass, and agents dealing with live calls from customers. During the day everyone had the opportunity to visit an exhibition called ‘The World of Carglass®’ and look around the media centre.

The results of the competition were announced by Jean-Paul Teyssen, Carglass® Belux General Manager, at a special dinner hosted by national TV presenters Martine Prenen and Karl Vannieuwkerke.   

And the winners on the day were:

Benoît Deckers – best technician (Herstal branch)
Dimitri Uyttendaele – runner up (Aalst branch)
Thomas Defraene – best rookie (Waterloo branch)
Arlette Verheyden – best front office employee (Hasselt branch)
Marie-France Froidmont – best Customer Contact Centre agent

Jean-Pierre Filippini, Carglass® Belux Operations Director commented on the event: "This is the highest entry ever and the first time the Customer Contact Center and Front Office have participated in the competition. The whole event was an outstanding showcase of how Carglass Belux is continuously moving forwards on the delight ladder. I take my hat off to all participants and thank the team for making this happen!"
