Judging Criteria

Judges assessing competitor at the Best of Belron 2008To qualify for this global event, each finalist has had to win their own country competition, a superb achievement in itself.

At the global event in May 2012, over a two day period, technicians will be tested on all aspects of their job including,

  • How to repair and replace a windscreen
  • How to replace a side glass, as well as remove and refit a rear window
  • How they communicate with customers before and after a job.

Each technician will also be asked to complete a detailed questionnaire covering every aspect of his job, from health and safety, Judges at 2010 Best of Belronworking methods to customer care.

The quality of the work demonstrated will be of the highest level and the criteria for measuring performance will be extremely thorough. These criteria cover health and safety, working methods, care for the car, customer care, as well as final quality and speed of completing the job.

The judges will include technical trainers from across the Belron® business, assisted by the coaches from each participating country, to guarantee objectivity and permit the coach to maximise his coaching performance. With standards so high, each finalist will be able to 'stop-the-clock' for a maximum of two minutes while completing each job time to ask his coach for advice.
